On May 1st 2004, the European Union expanded from 15 to 25 member states. A few days later, on May 6th, De Balie organized an evening of debates and festivities to mark that occasion. Visitors were invited to participate in a performance by dr.Pep.
Visitors could take their place as First Citizen of Europe, share their views and make their voice heard. Throughout the evening, their statements were projected on main stage to constantly confront the experts and politicians on stage with the voice of the people.
